From vine to harvest, from barrel to bottle, the exchange of all the various elements has combined to produce an outstanding wine.
Here in a surprising wine, a genuine topic of conversation, disturbing but exciting. Its remarkable presence makes it one of a kind, to be shared with other wine lovers.
The grapes were all carefully selected from the finest and best exposed plots.
Immediately after fermentation, the juice, consisting of a majority of Cabernet Sauvignon, was transferred into new oak barrels and kept on the lees at low temperature throughout the winter, leaving the vinification to come to its natural completion in the spring. The new wood brings its savours of toast and vanilla, making this an elegant, distinguished and mellow wine.
After ageing for 18 months, it is bottled in our cellars.
Selected for its typical characteristics of COTES DE BOURG wines, the « Cuvée Tradition » of CHATEAU PONT DE LA TONNELLE is crafted from a blend of the three grape varieties of the appellation, essentially vinified in vats to produce a generous wine.
Slightly woody overtones, the flavours of red fruits and a final finely toasted give this “Cuvee TENDANCE” a very high quality. Its fineness and softness can be appreciated at a young age. This is a modern appetizing wine for your pleasure.
A wine crafted from a blend of the three iconic Bordeaux grape varieties: the Merlot (65%), the Cabernet Sauvignon(30%) and the Malbec (5%).
Vinification is performed in stainless steel vats after a cold, pre-fermentation maceration to preserve all the aromas of the ripe fruit.
Vatting lasts two to three weeks depending on the vintage. This type of wine is to be appreciated for its remarkable finesse offering all the original taste of the grapes.
A higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes (55%) for the older, deep-rooted vines planed in clay and gravel soils, lends itself to 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
This wine, made for cellaring, will be the ideal companion for red meat and game.
The rosé wine is drawn off from a vat of red grapes, set aside and left to ferment at low temperature to keep all its aromas and fruitiness.
It is very much a palatable, refreshing, sunshine wine to be enjoyed in summertime with barbecues, mixed salads or fish or shellfish starters.
A rosé wine is not made for ageing and is best enjoyed within the two years following purchase.
